Little johnny outsmarts the teacher

A new teacher was excited about starting her first week at a new school.

She had recently finished several psychology courses and was eager to put some of what she had learned into practice.

One morning, she decided to try a little classroom experiment.

She stood confidently in front of the students and said, “Good morning, everyone! Today, we’re going to learn something about confidence and self-awareness.”

The students listened quietly.

Then she smiled and announced, “I want everyone who thinks they’re a little foolish sometimes to stand up.”

The classroom became completely silent.

The teacher looked around, expecting several students to slowly raise their hands or stand.

Nobody moved.

She waited.

Still nothing.

Then, after a few moments, Little Johnny slowly stood up from his desk.

The teacher smiled.

“Johnny, do you really think you’re foolish?”

Johnny shook his head.

“No, ma’am. I don’t think I’m foolish at all.”

The teacher looked puzzled.

“Then why did you stand up?”

Johnny glanced at the teacher, smiled politely, and said,

“Because I didn’t want you to be the only one standing!”

The entire class burst into laughter.

The teacher stood there for a moment, realizing that her carefully planned psychology lesson had just turned into a lesson in quick thinking.

Johnny sat back down and quietly opened his notebook.

The teacher smiled and said, “All right, Johnny. I think I’ve learned something today too!”

And from the back of the classroom, another student whispered, “Johnny should be teaching the class!”
