A young couple is finally wed
A young couple had just gotten married and finally arrived at their hotel after a long, exciting wedding day.
Both were nervous about their first night together, but neither wanted to admit it.
After sitting quietly for a few minutes, the husband finally decided he needed some advice.
He secretly called his father.
“Dad, what am I supposed to do first?”
His father confidently replied, “Son, just relax. Get comfortable, get ready for bed, and take things one step at a time.”
The young man followed the advice.
A few minutes later, he became nervous again and called his father.
“Dad, what now?”
His father gave him another piece of advice, but the young man misunderstood it completely.
Meanwhile, his new wife was equally confused.
She quietly called her mother.
“Mom, I have no idea what we’re supposed to be doing!”
Her mother laughed and said, “Honey, just ask him what he’s doing.”
The wife looked over and suddenly burst out laughing.
“He’s in the bathroom!”
Her mother asked, “What is he doing?”
The bride replied:
“Apparently, he misunderstood his father’s advice so badly that he’s standing there trying to figure out which part of the wedding instructions came with a user manual!”
The mother paused and said:
“Well, at least you two have already learned the most important rule of marriage—never take advice from your parents without asking for clarification!”
