The ranch hand who made one big mistake

After a successful rancher passed away, he left his entire ranch to his devoted wife.

She was a lovely woman who wanted to keep the business running, even though she knew very little about managing cattle and ranch work.

So, she placed an advertisement in the newspaper looking for a reliable ranch hand.

Two men applied: one had a reputation for drinking too much, while the other was known for being more interested in fashion than traditional cowboy life.

After careful consideration, the widow hired the second man, hoping he would be dependable.

Her decision proved wise. He worked hard, understood ranching, and helped the property prosper.

After several successful weeks, she told him, “You’ve done an excellent job. Why don’t you take Saturday night off and enjoy yourself in town?”

He happily agreed, but he didn’t return until around 2:30 in the morning.

The widow was waiting beside the fireplace with a glass of wine.

“Come here,” she said calmly. “Unbutton my corset and take it off.”

He nervously obeyed.

“Now remove my boots, socks, skirt, and the rest of these clothes,” she continued.

He followed each instruction, looking increasingly uncomfortable.

Finally, she looked him straight in the eyes and said, “If you ever wear my clothes into town again, you’re fired!”
