Two friends decided to take a weekend trip

Two bright-eyed blonde friends decided to take a weekend trip to a brightly lit gaming resort to try their luck at the arcade gaming floor.

Before heading inside the crowded, buzzing hall, they made a clear pact: as soon as either of them ran out of her designated gaming budget, she would walk over to the comfortable wooden bench right near the main entrance and wait patienty for the other.

Trixie ran out of her funds almost immediately. Shrugging off her bad luck, she strolled over to the designated bench, sat down, and began to wait. Minute after minute ticked by into hours as she watched the colorful crowd go by, growing more exhausted by the moment.

Finally, after what felt like a complete eternity, she saw Patty strolling toward her with a huge, beaming smile, clutching a massive, heavy sack filled to the brim with shiny coins.

“Hey, Trixie!” Patty called out cheerfully. “How’d you do?”

“Not very good,” came the tired reply. “I’ve been waiting here for hours.”

Patty gasped with excitement and said:

“You should have been with me, did I ever find a good machine! It’s way in the back. Come! I’ll show it to you . . . you can’t lose! Every time you put a dollar in, you win four quarters!”
