A man walked into a bank and approached the teller’s window.
“I want to open an account in this damn bank!” he announced.
The teller was shocked by his language.
She straightened up and replied, “Excuse me, sir! We expect our customers to use respectful language in this bank.”
Feeling uncomfortable, she stepped away from the counter and went to speak with her manager.
She explained what had happened, and the manager agreed that he should handle the situation personally.
A moment later, they both returned to the counter.
“Good afternoon, sir,” the manager said politely.
“My employee tells me there seems to be a problem. Could you explain what’s going on?”
The man shook his head. “There’s no problem with the bank! I just won $200 million in the lottery, and I want to deposit my money in this damn bank!”
The manager’s expression changed instantly.
He smiled, leaned toward the teller, and turned back to the wealthy customer.
“Oh, I understand completely, sir,” he said warmly.
Then he gestured toward the teller and asked:
“And is this lady giving you a hard time, sir?”
The teller stared at him in disbelief. Just moments earlier, he had been defending her and now, after hearing about the lottery winnings, he was suddenly the customer’s biggest supporter!
Apparently, money doesn’t just open bank accounts. It can open doors to some very interesting manners, too!
