A police officer asks a thief
A police officer stopped a suspicious-looking man who had just been caught carrying an expensive watch that belonged to someone else.
The officer held up the watch and asked, “Where did you get this? Did you steal it from that man?”
The suspect immediately shook his head.
“No, officer! I didn’t steal anything. He gave the watch to me.”
The officer looked surprised. “He gave it to you? Why would a complete stranger simply give you his expensive watch?”
The man shrugged and replied, “Well, it wasn’t exactly a gift. But technically, he handed it over.”
The officer became suspicious. “All right, then. Tell me exactly when he gave it to you.”
The man smiled and casually replied:
“He gave it to me when I showed him the gun.”
