A worried husband called his family doctor

One afternoon, a worried husband called his family doctor in a panic.

He explained that something completely unexpected had happened at home, and he needed help as soon as possible.

Husband: “Doctor, you’ve got to come over here quickly! My wife just got out of the shower, and a mouse ran straight up her!”

The doctor was surprised by the unusual situation, but he stayed calm and tried to think of a practical solution.

Doctor: “All right, don’t panic. Take a small piece of cheese and hold it just outside the shower. The smell might encourage the mouse to come back out.”

The husband thanked him and waited for the doctor to arrive.

When the doctor finally pulled into the driveway, he hurried inside, expecting to find the husband following his instructions carefully.

Instead, he found the man standing beside his wife, holding a large fish in a rather unusual position.

The doctor stared at him in disbelief.

Doctor: “What on earth are you doing? I told you to use a piece of cheese, not a fish!”

The husband looked up confidently, as though everything was going according to plan.

Husband: “I did exactly what you said, Doctor! I held the cheese where you told me to, and it almost worked. The mouse started coming out, just like you predicted. But then the cat saw it, chased it, and sent it straight back up there!”

The doctor could only shake his head, wondering how one simple suggestion had turned into such a ridiculous situation.
