Fred and Mary had just gotten married
Fred and Mary had just gotten married, but they couldn’t afford a honeymoon, so they spent their first night together at Fred’s parents’ house.
The next morning, Fred’s little brother, Johnny, finished breakfast and got ready for school. Before leaving, he asked his mother, “Are Fred and Mary awake yet?”
“No, not yet,” she replied.
Johnny grinned and said, “You know what I think?”
His mother shook her head. “I don’t want to hear your thoughts right now! Hurry off to school.”
At lunchtime, Johnny returned home and asked the same question. His mother gave him the same answer, and once again he tried to share his theory.
She told him to eat his lunch and get back to class.
When school ended, Johnny came home and asked a third time, “Are Fred and Mary up yet?”
“No,” his mother answered, now curious. “All right, Johnny. What exactly do you think?”
Johnny looked serious and said, “Last night, Fred came into my room asking for Vaseline. I think I accidentally gave him my airplane glue!”
