The doctor compliment

A 45-year-old woman arrived home from her doctor’s appointment wearing the biggest smile her husband had seen in weeks.

She looked so pleased with herself that he finally put down his newspaper and asked, “What on earth has got you so happy?”

“Darling, you’ll never believe what the doctor told me!” she said excitedly.

“He said I’m in excellent health, and he was amazed that my figure looks as youthful as a woman’s in her twenties!”

Her husband raised an eyebrow and gave a skeptical little laugh.

“Oh, really?” he replied. “That’s quite a compliment! But did he have anything to say about your backside? After all, you’re forty-five now!”

The woman’s smile grew even wider.

She calmly set her handbag on the table, looked him straight in the eye, and answered sweetly:

“No, dear. He never mentioned you at all!”

For a moment, her husband sat there speechless, trying to work out whether he had just been insulted or completely ignored.

His wife simply smiled, walked into the kitchen, and started making herself a cup of tea.

That evening, he learned an important lesson: when your wife comes home happy from the doctor, sometimes the smartest thing you can do is congratulate her and keep your own comments to yourself!
