Two doctors Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Smith

Two doctors, Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Smith, were treating a patient whose lung condition had become worse.

They explained that his habit of smoking marijuana could be contributing to his health problems.

“But it’s a natural herb!” the patient protested. “How can something herbal be harmful?”

Dr. Jenkins sighed and replied, “Just because something comes from nature doesn’t automatically make it safe. Apricot stones, for example, contain compounds that can release dangerous amounts of cyanide. There’s also a plant in my garden that I wouldn’t recommend sitting under for ten minutes if you want to stay alive!”

The patient looked concerned, seemed to accept the explanation, and eventually left.

Afterward, Dr. Smith turned to his colleague and asked curiously, “Jenkins, what’s that plant in your garden that’s supposedly so dangerous?”

Dr. Jenkins answered without hesitation, “A water lily!”

Dr. Smith stared at him for a moment, realizing that his colleague’s dramatic warning had been hiding a rather silly botanical joke all along!
