The blonde and the road painting job
A man hired a blonde woman to paint white stripes down a long stretch of road.
The job came with one simple requirement: she had to paint at least four miles of road every day to keep her contract.
The boss explained the task carefully, handed her the supplies she needed, and wished her luck.
On the first day, the blonde surprised everyone by completing an impressive eight miles. Her boss was delighted with her work and thought he had hired the perfect employee.
Boss: “Excellent work! If you keep this up, you’ll be one of our best workers!”
On the second day, she painted four miles. The boss was still satisfied, although he wondered why her progress had dropped so much.
On the third day, she managed only two miles. He assumed she might be tired or having a difficult day, so he decided to give her another chance.
But on the fourth day, she painted just one mile. Now the boss was concerned. He called her over and asked what had happened to her impressive performance.
Boss: “You were doing so well at the beginning! Why are you painting less road every single day?”
The blonde looked at him with a completely serious expression and explained her problem.
Blonde: “Well, I can’t get very far because each day I’m getting further and further away from the bucket!”
