A elderly man was lying peacefully in bed
An elderly man was lying peacefully in bed, surrounded by his loving family.
His wife sat beside him, holding his hand, while their four children stood nearby.
Three of the children looked remarkably like their father.
They were tall, confident, and athletic.
The youngest, however, looked completely different.
He was much shorter than his brothers and had a very different appearance.
As the man grew weaker, he looked at his wife and quietly said:
“Darling, there’s something I need to know before I go.”
His wife leaned closer.
“What is it?”
The man looked toward their youngest child.
“Please tell me the truth. Is he really my son? I don’t want to leave this world with any doubts. Whatever the answer is, I promise I won’t be angry.”
His wife gently squeezed his hand.
“My dear, you have nothing to worry about. I swear he is absolutely your son.”
The husband smiled peacefully.
“Thank you. That’s all I needed to know.”
A few moments later, he closed his eyes and passed away peacefully.
The wife looked at the children, sighed with relief, and quietly whispered:
“Thank goodness he didn’t ask about the other three!”
